Winford Charles Gregory, born on August 14, 1956, in Alabama, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at Cullman Health Care. His departure left those who had the privilege of knowing him with fondness and gratitude.

Though words cannot fully capture the impact of his presence or the depth of the loss felt by those who mourn him, Winford’s memory lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy is carried forward through the recollections of friends, acquaintances, and all those whose lives were enriched by his kindness and sincerity.

As we reflect upon Winford Charles Gregory’s life, we honor his memory by remembering the way he loved people.  He was always happy.  He loved westerns and went around saying "pow pow" and jokingly shooting people.  This is why his friends he loved at the nursing home called him by his nick name, 'pow pow'.  

Arrangements for services are respectfully noted as follows: His funeral will be Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Etha Cemetery, Jason Vinson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m.

Winford was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Elmer & Imogene Lawrence Gregory; brother, Voyt Gregory; sisters, Judy Ramey, Brenda Reasonover.

Survivors include his brothers, Willard Gregory, Jr., Paul David Gregory, Marvin Gregory, Kenny (Jamie) Gregory; sister, Juanita Jones; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

May Winford’s memory bring comfort and peace to those who grieve, and may the example he set inspire others for years to come.
