Funeral service for Troy "Butch" Hansel Cleghorn, age 74, of Crane Hill, will be Sunday, December 1, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Sulpher Springs Baptist Church in Crane Hill, with Paul Cleghorn and Kerry Cleghorn officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12- 1:30 p.m. and the interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Helicon.

Mr. Cleghorn was born on June 18, 1950, to Troy Felton Cleghorn and Eunice Ward Cleghorn in Cullman, AL.  He passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Cleghorn, and Edwin Cleghorn; sister, Greta Bryan.

He is survived by three sons, Patrick (Dee) Cleghorn, Paul (Gerrita) Cleghorn, and Kip Cleghorn; grandchildren, Sadie (Austin) Freeman, Nathan (Kayla) Cleghorn, Hunter (Gracie) Cleghorn, Nikki Jenkins, Brady (Carley) Cleghorn, Aubry Cleghorn, Ashton, Chelsey, Jacob and Micah Cleghorn; eight great grandchildren; one brother, Kerry (Patty) Cleghorn.

Butch was a faithful and dedicated minister of the Lord for fifty-three years.  He was an outdoorsman and lover of nature in many ways.  He enjoyed hard work and always had a purpose in everything he did with his hands.  He loved cutting wood, tending to his cows, and riding horses with his family and friends in Bankhead Forest.  This is where he felt the most at home.  He was also an avid reader and loved learning new things every day.  His legacy will live on in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for all days to come.  He will forever be remembered and loved.
