Thomas W. Oden, age 77, retired logger, passed away in his home, on March 24, 2023, surrounded by loved ones, who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Thomas is a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the 2nd Infantry division of the United States Army. He frequently pointed out that the Army and logging taught him the value of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself by always helping others. Thomas was a faithful man who loved the Lord.

Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Ira C. Oden, Sr., and his mother, Virginia D. Oden. Mr. Oden is survived by his children, Marsha Summerford (Hank), Scott Oden (Becky), Miranda Skinner (Josh), Amber Blocker (Jason), Honi Smith (Patrick). He also had 12 loving grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a host of siblings, family, and friends. He was a kind, thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many lives he touched.

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the Oden family.  Funeral service with military honors for Mr. Oden will be Wednesday, March 29 ^th , 2023 at 12 noon at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 11-12 prior to the funeral.
