Funeral service for Shirley Faye Lamar, age 86, of Cullman, is Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 12 p.m., at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Mickey Jett officiating. Visitation will be held at the chapel from 11a.m. - 12 p.m. and interment will be at Cullman Memory Gardens.

Shirley was born August 19, 1937, to Herman Hogeland and Ethel McClendon Hogeland.  She passed from this life on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her residence.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Wilson Lamar; sister, Mickie Fendley.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Lamar (Renee), Randy Lamar (Valerie); one daughter, Nanette Lamar Jett (Mickey); brothers, Neal Hogeland (Ellen), and Steve Hogeland (Laurita); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a host of family and friends.

Family remembers Shirley as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply.  She enjoyed camping and traveling and was very outgoing.  She is a member of Living Faith Baptist Church.  She will be very missed.
