A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

From his earliest days, Samuel nurtured a profound love for the outdoors. Fishing and hunting were not just pastimes but vital parts of his identity, reflecting a connection to nature that he embraced with enthusiasm and reverence.

Known affectionately as "Grizz," he was a proud husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest joy was found in his family. He loved his wife, Evelyn Schild, with steadfast devotion. Together, they built a life rich in love and laughter. Samuel was a devoted father to his son, Jeff Weaver, and daughters Kayle Schild, Audre (Nate) Boren, and Julie Causey. His home was blessed with the presence of his grandchildren—Sarah, Logan, and Ethan—and his great-grandchild, Liam, each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness.

Beyond his immediate family, Samuel's familial bonds extended to his sister, Sabrina Gibson; his uncle Harold (Betsy) Gibson; and his cousins Meg (Lee and McKenzee Gregory) and Kat (Kaleb, Kason, and Kollins) Tilley. Throughout his life, he was surrounded by loyal friends and extended family, including lifelong friends with whom he shared countless memories.

Samuel’s character was marked by a rare ease—he never met a stranger and had a talent for lifting the spirits of those around him. His presence would light up any room, infusing it with warmth and laughter. His love extended beyond people to his beloved dogs, companions who shared in his adventures and daily joys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Rudolph Schild and Ira Jane Gibson Schild, as well as his grandparents, David and Beatrice Gibson. Their memory lived on in him, influencing his path and the love he generously gave.

Samuel "Grizz" Schild leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and family devotion. His life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and the simple yet profound joy of meaningful connection. Those who were fortunate to know him will carry his memory in their hearts, inspired by the love and light he so freely shared.
