Memorial service for Roberta Skinner Gurley, age 70, of Dora, is Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Cullman Funeral Home chapel.  Family will welcome friends from 10-11 a.m.

Roberta passed away on March 9, 2024, at the age of 70.   Born in Jasper, Alabama, she was the daughter of Robert Clifton Skinner Sr. and Zumar Birdie Skinner. She was the widow of Max Gurley, whom she shared 37 years of marriage with.

In addition to being a nurse for over 20 years, she was more importantly a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her three children, Sheila May (Rusty), Roger Gurley (fiancé, Lacey), and Melissa Thomas (Chase). As well as her grandchildren Brian Duke, Tiffany Rutherford (Levi), Carsyn Gurley, Harleigh, Briar, River, Emery, Brooks, and great-grandchild Jayden.  Sisters Janet James, (Henry), Wanda Files, Pam Underwood (Keith), Lucy Skinner, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and other family.
