Robert Owen
Pace
Aug 11, 1939 — Jul 10, 2026
Robert Owen Pace, 86, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, hard work, and devotion to his family.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Cullman Memory Gardens, Dr. John Richter officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2.
Robert dedicated 42 years of his career to A&P Grocery, where he faithfully served his customers and coworkers. For 25 of those years, he worked as a supervisor, earning the respect of those around him through his leadership, integrity, and strong work ethic.
A devoted Christian, Robert was a faithful member of Lakeside Baptist Church. His love for God was evident in the way he lived each day. He found great joy in studying Scripture and took pride in reading his Bible through, continually seeking to grow in his faith and understanding of God's Word.
Robert had a deep appreciation for God's creation and loved spending time outdoors. Whether he was tending his garden, working in his yard, or firing up the grill for family and friends, he found happiness in simple moments and sharing them with those he loved. Barbecuing and grilling became more than hobbies—they were expressions of his hospitality and love for bringing people together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Owen S. Pace and Martha Pauline Willmarth Pace; an infant daughter, Amy Pace and his sister, Charlotte Seiger.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Marie Pace; daughters, Shannon (Steve) Slemmons, Sloan (Stephen) Dickinson; brother, Phillip (Kathy) Pace; brother-in-law, Chuck Seiger; grandchildren, Nick (Emily) Baugh, Alex Baugh, Sarah (Jack) Rhodes, Sophie Slemmons (fiance', Wesley Tarrant); great-grandchildren, Joy Baugh, Alexis Baugh, Lelle Rhodes; nieces, nephews, family and friends. Above all, Robert cherished his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to Oak Mountain Missions Ministry, 2699 Pelham Parkway, Pelham, Alabama, 35214.
He will also be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, which brought smiles and laughter to countless gatherings and brightened the lives of everyone who knew him.
Robert's life was one of faith, kindness, dedication, and love. He leaves behind a family who will forever treasure his example, his laughter, and the many memories they shared together. Though he will be deeply missed, they find comfort in knowing he is now at home with the Lord.
