Funeral service for Ray Elton Haymon, Sr., age 90, of Vinemont, will be Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Crane Hill, officiated by Pastor Paul Campbell. Mr. Haymon will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service and interment will be held at Livingston Chapel Cemetery in Crane Hill.

Ray Elton Haymon, 90, died at the Hanceville Nursing Home on Thursday October 10, 2024. He was born on September 10, 1934 and lived most of his life in Crane Hill, Alabama. He was a member at Mt. Hope Baptist church and served as a deacon there. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and active in the Republican Party. He was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family.
He is survived by three daughters; Ranae (Gene Ramsay) Heaven, Norcross, GA, Rhoda (David) Whitlock, Vinemont, Sherry (Michael) Nash, Bessemer, two sons; Elton (Angie) Haymon, Arab, Dale (Tammy) Haymon, Athens, eleven grandchildren; Zachary (Laura) Heaven, Jacob (Sara) Heaven, Sarah (A.J.) Walsh, Rachel Rodriguez, Joshua Nash, Michelle Nash, Ragan (Laura) Haymon, Ryan (Taylor Ann) Haymon, Breanna (Bill) Christie, Ben Haymon, Luke Haymon and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Lott Haymon, parents Ira and Lola Haymon, two brothers; Bobby Haymon and Roy Haymon, two sisters; Irene Haymon and Betty Hamner, and a grandson, Caleb Haymon.
