Funeral service for Patricia Ponder, age 70, of Cullman will be Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery, with Pastor Hollis Gardner officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.  Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Ponder passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 12, 1952 to David Shavers, Sr. and Idell Bates Shavers.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and loved her church family.  She was also a member of Eastern Star and attended as long as she was able.  She loved to play piano, mowing her yard, and tending her flowers.  She loved her family very much, and most of all, she loved the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Infant sister, Judith Ann Shavers.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dan Ponder; son, Scot Ponder; daughter Laura (Erik) Fulenwider; brothers, David Leon (Barbara) Shavers, Jr., John Edd (Angela) Shavers, Mark Shavers; sister, Janet Meaut; grandchildren, Alexis, Trey, other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother-in law, Steve Ponder; sister-in-law, Peggy Ponder; family and friends.
