Funeral service for Melissa Kay Bowers, age 42, of Cullman, is Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home chapel, with Bro. Rick Nesbitt officiating.  She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. and interment will be at Missionary Grove Cemetery.

Melissa was born March 31,1982 to David Morton and Debra Thornton Morton.  She passed from this life too soon on April 11, 2024.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas Allan Morton, Luvada Morton, and James Thornton.

She is survived by her parents, David and Debra Morton; grandmother, Inez Twilley; son, Caleb Bowers; daughters, Sheridan Bowers (Michael Chambers), Brooke Bowers; one grandchild, Tatum Bowers; aunts and uncles, Randy Morton, Sandra Wright (Tim), Karen Hogeland (Craig), Dean Twilley, Annette Burnett, Casey Twilley (Melissa); a host of family and friends.

Melissa was a selfless daughter, mother, and friend.  She was always putting others first.  She loved her kids and her grandbaby so much.  When her kids were in school, she loved watching them play sports and went to all their games.  She was a beautiful soul and she will be missed.
