Memorial service for Martha Ann Bates Mazzara, age 70, of Cullman, will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 2 pm at Cullman Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor James Fields officiating.  Family will welcome friends from 1-2 pm.

Martha passed from this life on Saturday, November 11, 2023.  She was born July 10, 1953 to James Charles Bates and Arvella Pearl Ford Bates.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenny Bates.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Brian) Burchett; her best friend and companion, Sam Mazzara; 4 grandchildren, Sam Tomlin (Katelyn Downing), Caroline Tomlin (Preston "Landry" Gray), Lucy Kate Burchett, and Faithe Burchett; nephew, John Bates; niece, Sharon Bates Thompson .

Martha was a wonderful lady who was very quick witted, fun, and loved doing crafts.  She was a dog lover and would adopt dogs that no one else wanted.  She had a big heart and loved her family very much.  She will be very missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Camp Smile-a-Mile.
