Karen Ruth Underwood passed away on February 24, 2023 at the age of 59, with her husband of 30 years by her side.  She

was born January 16, 1964 in Birmingham, Alabama. Karen graduated from Ensley  high school and went on to spend 23 years in healthcare at Andrew Sports Medicine. You could always find her laying in the sun with a book and a misting bottle during summer, which was her favorite season. She loved being surrounded by family and friends and was known as the life of the party.  She loved sunshine, the beach, listening to music, and dancing. She was fun loving, with the brightest smile, and will be dearly missed.

Karen  is survived by her husband Mike Underwood, her daughter, Loren Underwood, her grandson, Sully, her mother-in-law Mary Underwood, her brothers Jeff and Jackie Dale Tinker, her

sister, Kim Cleveland, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceeded in death by her mom, Millie Ann Cail, her dad, Jack Tinker, her father in law, Max Underwood, and her brother Joe Tinker. A celebration of life will be held at Encounter Church on Saturday, March 4th at 11 a.m.
