A memorial service for Joel Herbert Carter, Jr. , 82, of Hanceville is incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Carter passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Hanceville Nursing Home & Rehab.  He was born June 3, 1944 to Joel Herbert Carter Sr. and Lois Elizabeth Matthews Carter.  Joel was an educator and worked for many years at the Cullman County Board of Education.  

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Linda C. Hill; nephews, Jonathan David Hill, William Carter Hill; great-nieces, Addisyn Hill, Avery Hill, family and friends.
