Jerald was born to Zecue Crozier Adams and Arcadia Pesnell Adams on November 18, 1940.Born and raised on the family farm, his parents instilled work ethic, integrity, and the love of our Lord. His passion was  pastoring, 45 years in Cullman, Arab, and Gadsden. The third of four children, he found Sundays were for family, play, and worship at Vinemont Baptist Church. Church was a huge part of Jerald's life. It was there he met his future bride. He was six at the time and she—only two. There at the age of ten Jerald accepted Christ.  Attending Vinemont School, Jerald escaped the labor of the farm and learned to love basketball.  Jerald finished secondary school at Cullman High. After graduating, he finally married his partner in life Joyace Ruth Duke.  The following few years Jerald turned his attentions to manage college, career, and creating a family with Joyace. During his time at Saint Bernard College, Jerald accepted a job with the Cullman county school system. He and Joyace had two children, Stuart and Suzaun.  Jerald used his powerful voice to instruct history, classes, and coach, baseball, football, and his favorite, basketball. All in all, he taught and coached for over 20 years, making great friends and lifelong memories with the students and faculty with whom he worked. Most of his teaching career was spent at Jones Chapel junior high school, home of the Tigers. Here, Jerald started an annual tradition of hosting a trip to Six Flags for the graduating ninth graders.
