James Olen Reid

James (Jim) Olen Reid, age 75, of Cullman, AL, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026. Born in Cullman, Alabama, on March 11, 1951, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Woods Reid; father, Edwin Allen Reid; mother, Amanda Odell Reid; and brother, Don Allen Reid.

Jim was a graduate of Walker County High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management from Auburn University. Through the years, he worked for several corporations throughout the Southeast and Florida.

He made his way back to Cullman and fell in love with his wife, Mary, and greatly cared for her until her passing. Jim enjoyed his retirement years by working in his garden, caring for his cats, rooting for Auburn, and loving on his great nieces and nephews.

Survivors include his niece, Adrienne Reid Whitehurst, and her husband, Jason Whitehurst, of Trussville, AL; great nieces and nephews—Ashtyn Nanette Whitehurst, James Grayton Whitehurst, and Madison Marie Whitehurst; and other relatives and friends.

Jim was loved by family and will be missed. We find comfort knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior.
