Funeral service for James Herman Elliott, 89, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Pastor Stanley Owensby and Bro Tim Bursell are officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday evening from 5:30-8 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m. before the service on Sunday.

James was born on July 2, 1935, to Monroe and Lois Edwards Elliott. Mr. Elliott loved to sing, talk to people and every chance he got he told people about the Lord. He was a home builder and often enjoyed riding motorcycles along with his children. He was a Church of God pastor, and he pastored churches throughout the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Fred Elliott; sisters, Virginia Knighten, Opal Welch and Clara Turner.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Edith Elliott; sons Dwight Elliott (girlfriend Connie Kennedy), Kenneth Elliott and Kevin Elliott; daughter, Sharon Elliott; 8 Grandchildren; 10 Great-grandchildren; several Great- great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends.
