G.W. Hicks, age 87, of Cullman, passed away Sunday, June 16th, 2024. A Graveside service will be held for him at Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville, AL on Thursday, June 20th, 2024 at 11 am with Bro. Kerry Cleghorn officiating.

G.W. was born on April 24, 1937, to  Lennie D Hicks, and Cora Rice Hicks.

G.W. is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lucille Hicks Estes, Jeanette Hicks Hartselle, and Margie Hicks Caldwell.

He was survived by his wife of 65 and a half years, Sarah Hicks, son; Richard Hicks; daughter, Renee Hicks (Steve); brother, Aldon Hicks (Gaynell); grandchild, Phillip Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.

G.W. worked in pharmaceuticals most of his adult life. After he retired, he enjoyed doing all kinds of handyman jobs and is remembered by his family as not being able to sit still. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Gideons, Cullman Caring for Kids, or Cullman Regional Foundation.
