Emily was raised in the Blair community where she lived for the majority of her life. Her life was enriched by the cherished friendships of neighbors and lifelong friends within her community. A devout Christian, she was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church and looked forward to attending church each week. The Blair Congregational Methodist Church was also an important part of her life and she was grateful to be part of their church family. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, Alabama football and was an avid reader. After retiring from the State of Alabama, she enjoyed meeting friends for social gatherings and traveling with her seniors group on various trips and adventures.
Raised with a strong sense of family unity, she had an unwavering love of her sisters, Pauline and Shirley. Residing in different cities, their phone rituals took place almost on a daily basis. They loved, laughed and sometimes quarreled across the phone lines sharing in each other's lives as if there were no distance between them.
Family will happily receive flowers or if anyone wishes to donate instead, please do so to the Blair Methodist Cemetery Fund in memory of Emileen.
