Douglas Lee Ritchie, age 93, of Cullman, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, at his residence.  A memorial service is planned for a later date.

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

Mr. Ritchie was born on October 28, 1930, to Opal Ritchie and Nora Byrd Ritchie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jerry Ritchie; daughter, Kay Jordan; sister, Jan Freiburger.

He is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Ritchie Elsey (George), and Brenda Jill Ritchey; grandchildren, Jim Pettigrew (Taa), Doug Pettigrew (Kristi), Brandi Yoo (Dave), Morgan Elsey (Courtney), George Elsey, Jr. (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Jasmine Ritchie, Kylie Ritchie, Haydon Ritchie, David Yoo, Dylan Yoo, Gabrielle Pettigrew, Harlan Elsey.

His daughters describe their father as being generous to a fault.  Everyone who knew him genuinely loved him.  He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.
