Funeral service for Dorotha "Dot" Rodgers, age 91, of Cullman, is Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2 pm at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Etsel Riddle and Pastor Stephen Stringer officiating.  Visitation will be held before the service from 12-2 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Vance Cemetery in Jones Chapel.

Dot was born September 15, 1932 to William Arthur Vance and Cora Lee Horton Vance.  She passed from this life March 30, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benes Z. Rodgers; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Rev. Loyd Rodgers and Lizzie Rodgers; sisters, Audie Vance, Wynelle Vance Macie Vance Johnson, Eleanor Vance Long; brother, Dennis C. Vance, Sr.

She is survived by her sister, Oppoline V. Green; a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Dot enjoyed square dancing and china doll painting.  She also enjoyed serving alongside her husband, who was a deacon at Northside Baptist Church.  She loved helping those in need and cheering the lonely.  She will be missed.
