Donnie Wayne Echols, age 68, of Hanceville, Alabama, passed away on May 23, 2026. Born on March 19, 1958, Donnie was born and raised in Hanceville, Alabama, where he built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and community.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 27th, 2026 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Duck River Cemetery, Bro. Michael Talley and Bro. Keith Whitley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations toward the expense of the funeral.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Echols, and his brothers, Ricky, Ronnie, and Keith Echols.
He is survived by his loving mother, Faye Harris; his devoted wife, Lucretia Echols; his sons, Jeffrey Echols, Matthew Terry, and Isaiah Reynolds; his daughters, Allesha Echols, Yvonne Rice, Taleatha Anderson, and Rachel Jones; his sister, Rena Williams; and 15 beloved grandchildren. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Donnie was known as a hardworking man who dedicated over 20 years to the Cullman Street Department, helping maintain roads and sidewalks throughout the community. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.
A man of many passions, Donnie especially loved his family and took great pride in them. He served as song director at Trinity Baptist Church for several years, sharing both his faith and his love of music with others. Donnie was also an avid Alabama football fan who enjoyed hunting and spending time with those he loved.
Above all, Donnie will be remembered for the lasting impact he made on the lives of those around him through his kindness, dedication, faith, and love.
