Debra Jean Self, age 70, of Cullman, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Summerford Health and Rehab in Falkville.  Her family plans to have a Celebration of Life in honor of Debra, to be announced at a later date.

Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

Debra was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7, 1954, to Henry Lafayette Williams and Doris Walter Williams.

She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Lafayette Williams.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, John Richard Self; her mother, Doris Walters Williams; one son, John Adam Self (Lauren); two daughters, Laura Wright (Fabiel Avila), and Rebecca Breland (Robert); one sister, Cheryl Martin (Larry); grandchildren, Jared Nicoll, Amber Hudson (Kelly), John Greyson Self, Henry Fielder Self, Amelia Grace Self, Savannah Doris Breland, and Samson Robert Breland; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Debra is described by her family as a Godly, selfless, and giving mother to many children.  She ran an orphanage in Brazil and used her kind, nurturing nature to do good for so many who had never known love.  The impact and difference she made on the lives she has touched will be her legacy now and forever. She will be greatly missed.
