David Bruce Conway, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, at UAB Hospital. Born on August 28, 1967, in Alabama, David lived a life marked by dedication, skill, and profound love for his family and community.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Zennie Conway and Barbara Jean Crawford Conway, his bonus child Morgan Chase Boatright, and his father-in-law Charles Boatright. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him, yet his memory lives on through the many lives he touched.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 27 years, Bonnie Conway, whose partnership and devotion were a cornerstone of his life. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, including their sons Joshua Conway ( Katie), and Ivan Conway. His bonus children, Damian Boatright and his wife Bailey, and Makayla Boatright and her husband Josh, also carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. David was also a cherished brother, surviving siblings include Jeff Cole and his wife Maria, Alan Conway and his wife Barbara, and his sister Camilla Headley. He is lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Glenda Boatright.
A man of many talents, David was known for his handyman skills, possessing the remarkable ability to fix nearly anything. His hands built and mended, reflecting the care and attention he brought to every aspect of his life. A proud Navy veteran, David served his country with honor and discipline. Following his service, he devoted 27 years to American Tire, where he was not only a dedicated employee but a beloved colleague, deeply respected and appreciated by those fortunate enough to work alongside him.
David’s passions extended beyond his work and family; he was a passionate collector of knives and vintage items, treasures that told stories of times past and reflected his unique character and interests. Those close to him affectionately called him “Pops,” a testament to the warmth and love he radiated and the irreplaceable role he held in his family.
David Bruce Conway’s legacy is one of steadfast love, unwavering dedication, and a life well-lived. His kindness and skill left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and community. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished but for who he was—a man who loved deeply, worked faithfully, and lived genuinely.
