Obituary

Cheryl Penny Moody left this world for her heavenly home Thursday, August 31st, 2023. She was born March 2, 1957, to John Wesley "Bo" Wilbanks and Willie Jo Wilbanks.
Cheryl, also known as Penny to some, was a devoted servant of God who dedicated her life to serving Him within her church as a musician, Sunday School Teacher, secretary, and wherever there was a need. She lived by Proverbs 11:30. If you ask anyone what they remember the most about Penny I guarantee they mention her contagious laugh, beautiful voice, joy and the love she had for her Lord and her family.
Penny was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virgil Columbus Wilbanks, Emma Elizabeth Ann Wilbanks, William Andrew Buchanan and Josephine Moore Buchanan; her parents, John Wesley Wilbanks and Willie Jo Wilbanks; her beloved husband of forty-one years Stephen Carl Moody; and brother, Christopher Moody. Survivors include her sons, Nicholas Leif (Melissa) Moody, Benjamin Frederick (Michelle) Moody; honorary son, Sergio (Joy) Bradford; grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Moody, Ian Wesley Moody, Kaitlynn Faith Moody, Logan Charles Moody; honorary grandchild, Adelina Bradford; sisters, Rebecca Kaye McAnalley, Susan (John) Smith, Tammy (Ronald) Parker; brothers, John Wesley (Janease) Wilbanks Jr., Virgil Andrew (Marcy) Wilbanks, Terry (Mary) Moody, Daniel (Janet) Moody; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Cheryl Penny Moody and her husband, Stephen Carl Moody, were active members and supporters of The Gideon International ministry. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Gideons International for Bibles to be distributed (cards and donation box will be provided at the funeral home).
The family will receive visitors at Cullman Funeral Home chapel Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 service to follow. Burial will follow at Bethsadia Baptist Church Cemetery 1365 County Road 421, Cullman, AL 35057. Rev, Tim Aris will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be Trace Moody, Allen Hutchinson, Alan Edwards, Scotty Shoemaker, Eli Parker, Dusty Wilbanks.
