Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the Howell family.

On March 13, Charlotte J. Howell, 87, of Vinemont, received a personal invitation from her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to go and live with Him in Heaven. She quietly accepted His offer. Prior to that move, she had briefly enjoyed compassionate care at Woodland Village HealthCare Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howell of Vinemont, AL; her parents, Chester Orlando Milligan and Sarah Melvina Milligan of Moulton, AL; her brother Howard Milligan of Waterford, MI; her sister Irma Baker of Rogersville, AL; sister Janet Olson of Moulton, AL; and granddaughter, Delinda Marie Coleman. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother Robert Milligan and his wife, Mavis, of Moulton, AL; her sister Shirley Morgan of Trinity, AL; her brother Donald Milligan of Moulton, AL; by her children, Robert T. Barry and his wife, Angela, of Clinton Twp., MI; Raymond C. Barry and his wife, Diane, of Commerce Twp., MI; Richard C. Barry of Vinemont, AL; Carol J. Hulsey and her husband, David, of Orlando, FL; stepdaughter Charlene Howell Johnston and her husband, Eric; plus their children and grandchildren.

Charlotte had retired from Cullman Regional Medical Center. In retirement, for a long while she had often returned to Cullman Regional, still spending days working there but as a volunteer.

For vacations, Charlotte expressed little interest in traveling simply to see tourist locations, preferring trips that would allow her to visit her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. For pastimes, she loved to play piano, crocheted afghans as gifts for both family and friends, and often relaxed with a Christian novel. She enjoyed reminiscing about growing up on a farm in Clarkston, MI.
