A Celebration of Life Service for Carol Denise Nixon, 67, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 8th, 2026 at Longview Church of God.

Carol passed away February 4th, 2026 at UAB Hospital.  She was born May 11, 1958 to Howard Preston & Treva Jean Speegle Clayton.  She retired from the United States Navy after 20 years and served another 20 years in the civil service.  She loved the outdoors, gardening and her flowers.  She loved summertime and the beach.  Carol was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother.  She was very outgoing and friendly.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Left to cherish her memory are her mother; son, Robert (Kelsey) Nixon; daughter, Melanie Nemrouri; brothers, Charles (Pam) Clayton, Michael Clayton; sister, Michaelle (Herschell) Basinger; grandchildren, Henry, Brooks, Ella Nixon, Zahra, Layla, Tariq, Zayd; family and friends.
