Funeral service for Buel Donald Laney, 88, of the Blair community will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 26th, 2023 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Blair Methodist Cemetery, Revs. Tim Aris and Steve Rodgers officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:30 – 8 p.m.

Mr. Laney passed away Thursday, July 20th, 2023 at Grandview Hospital.  He was born December 31st, 1934 to Z.R .& Lucy Laney.  He was a member of West Point Masonic Lodge.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  He loved his family.

Buel was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Bobbie Jean Laney; grandson, Scotty Laney; daughter, Cindy Sterling; brothers, Clifford, Theodore 'Shoat', and Jimmy; infant sister, Charlotte; son-in-law, Kinney Quattlebaum.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Joe Laney, Josh (Tammie) Sterling; daughters, Palma Quattlebaum, Tammie (Randy) Parker, Kay Tolbert; sister, Evelyn Wynn; grandchildren, Traundia (John) Lambert, Kelly Quattlebaum (Gary Mikus), Jeremy Quattlebaum (Eryn Dean), Holly (Ty) Bogard, Erica (Griffin) Stanford, Michael Tolbert, Clint (Jesyka) Parker, Laney (Nate) Ayers, Andrea Parker (Riley Hancock), Emma Lane Sterling; great-grandchildren, Gaven, Colby, Kinsley, Gabe, Jazzlyn, Jaylie, Jovie, Jayde, Parker, Walker, Charli, Aubrey, Finn, Millie, Sam, Ethan, Lincoln; great-great grandchild, Ryder; family and friends.

Grandsons and great grandsons will be pallbearers.
