Brightstar Sterling, 67, of Arab passed away Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 at Cullman Regional Medical  Center.  No services are planned at this time.

Brightstar was born April 27, 1958 to Gradus Clarence and Mary Magdalene Hafer Holmes.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed bingo and gaming.  She enjoyed powwows and anything Native American.  She loved to make beadwork, belts, bracelets, etc.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Redhawk Sterling; brothers, Howard Luther Holmes, Roy Holmes, Eugene Holmes, John Luther 'J.W' Holmes; daughter, April Renee Bates.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Sterling Jr. (Samantha), Bengie Trussell (Wendy), Mikie Trussell; sisters, Betty Early, Cookie Day, Christine Needham, Penny Haynes (Danny); grandchildren, Nicholas Trussell, Gabby Trussell, Tiffany Sterling, Jasmine Sterling, Nathaniel Trussell, Tyler Trussell, Emma Guffey; great-grandchildren, Owen Trussell, Piper Trussell, Theodore Trussell; family and friends.
