Funeral service for Brenda Kay Bailey, age 81, of Hanceville, is Friday, May 10, 2024, at 12:30 pm, at Shelton Grove Baptist Church in Cold Springs, with Pastor Chris Chambless officiating. Mrs. Bailey will lie in state from 11am-12:30 pm at the church. Interment will be held immediately after, at New Salem Baptist Cemetery located at 590 Center Grove Rd. Somerville, AL 35670.

Mrs. Bailey was born December 12, 1942 to Woodrow Wilson Ryan, Sr. and Joyce E. Burleson Ryan in Jasper, AL. She passed from this life on May 7, 2024.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Dale Ryan; sister, Nina Jean Maples.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lacy Richard Bailey; two sons, Harold Bailey, and Travis Bailey; one daughter, Regina Dale White (Byron); sisters, Ramonia Joyce Kimble (Dale), Connie Ann Smith; grandchildren, Seth Harrison Bailey (Jackie), Kelsi Briana White, Austin Tyler Bailey (Jessica), Parker Evan Bailey (Becky), Blair Trenton Bailey (Tiara); great-grandchildren, Gavin Bailey, Krew Bailey, Elena Bailey, Tripp Bailey, and Noah Bailey; a host of family and friends.
Brenda loved farm life, especially canning vegetables from her garden, planting beautiful flowers, and feeding and admiring birds. She is also remembered by family as a fierce protector of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved nothing more than being with them to laugh and enjoy each other's company. She loved to read and she truly enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church when she was able to attend. Brenda will be very missed by the ones she loved and who love her.
