Obituary

Billy Fay Smith, age 83, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on November 2nd, 1942 in Alabama to Theodore Roosevelt Smith and Wilma Lorine Fuller Smith. Throughout his life, Billy was known for his hard work ethic as a truck driver, kindness, and what you saw is what you get, and for the love he had for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who touched the lives of so many people.

To his family, he was more than just a Pawpaw. He was a source of love, strength, wisdom, laughter, and countless memories that will be cherished forever. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by his family.

Billy lived a life full of love, hard work, memories, and family. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by Vickie Smith (Loving Wife of 33 Years); his siblings, Lou Williams, Donnie Smith, Ted Smith, Ricky (Betty) Smith, Donna Smith (Sister-In-Law); his children, Colette Huber, Belinda (Jeremy) Harris; his grandchildren, Kagan (Matt) McCarvy, Mariah (Ryan) Miles, Cierra (Dusty) Rose, Colten (Mattie Grace) Smith, Breaunah (Garrett) Smith and a host of great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by Theodore Roosevelt Smith (Father) Wilma Lorine Fuller Smith (Mother) Ray Smith (Brother) Jerry Smith (Brother) Tommy Smith (Brother) Kelly Smith (Daughter) Phillip Smith (Son) Lisa Boatright (Daughter).

Although our hearts are broken by his passing, we find comfort knowing that he is no longer suffering and that he has been reunited with the loved ones who went before him. His memory will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all of the lives he touched.

“A life well lived is a legacy of love.”

A Graveside service will be held on September 19th, 2026 at 4 pm at Emeus Baptist Church.  Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
