Funeral Service for Andrew Joseph Hoenig, age 74, of Athens, is Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2pm, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Wade Maynard, Andy John King, and Eric Pugh officiating. Visitation will be held from at the chapel from 12-2 pm and interment will be at Center Grove Cemetery.

Andrew was born on June 18, 1950, to George Joseph Hoenig Jr. and Theresa Lorene Schmuck Hoenig.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother-in-law, Elsie Hood.

He is survived by his wife, together for 58 years and married for 55, Joyce Hood Hoenig; his sons, Phillip Andrew Hoenig (Lori) and Joseph George Hoenig (Nicole); his sisters, Carol Sandlin, Pam Stead; grandchildren, Lindsey Hoenig, Rachel Hoenig, Carley Hoenig, Ethan Hoenig (Karla), Evan Hoenig; great-grandchild, Valentina Rose.

To know him was to love him. He will be deeply missed.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Limestone County Hospice in memory of Andrew.
