Graveside services for Ronald Gordon Dunn, 70, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 4th, 2012 at New Hope #2 Cemetery at Holly Pond, Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating.
Mr. Dunn passed away Friday, June 1st at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1941 to Ottis Levert Dunn and Opal Milligan Dunn.
Mr. Dunn graduated from West Point High School and entered the military. He served his country both in the National Guard and the Air Force. He later returned to Cullman and worked for Boeing. He then graduated from St. Bernard College and received his Masters and EDS degrees from the University of North Alabama, Florence. He taught school at West Point High School until he retired in 1993. He loved farming, woodworking, gardening, cooking and world traveling. His joy in life was his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and a sister, Onna Lee Dunn.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Melinda Gunter Dunn; a son, Phillip (Valerie) Dunn; a daughter, Lisa Sellers; his father, Ottis Levert Dunn; one brother, Doyle (Pam) Dunn; three granddaughters, Brittni (Brandon) Gray, Shelby & Sydney Sellers; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Gray; two nephews and a host of cousins and friends. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Visitation will be Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m.
